Autism Spectrum Disorders disclosed by children pose a serious challenge for their mothers. For this reason, mothers of children with ASD experience stress of a much greater intensity
than mothers of children with other types of disability or health disorders. However, the degree of stress intensity depends on various factors, which can be organized into three main areas concerning: the individual characteristics of the mother, the individual characteristics of the child, and the functioning of contextual elements.
The article presents an analysis of selected stressors which, based on literature analyzes, can be considered significant within the three areas mentioned above. However, due to the complexity of the problem of stress, the presented list of stressors should not be considered
as completed.
