Abstract

In spite of an increased level of tolerance in the modern world, tattoos still have a negative connotation (pathological or criminal). The aim of the study was to recognize the public’s opinion concerning tattoos among medical staff. 120 adults took part in the research. The method used was an anonymous questionnaire. The majority of respondents (95%) think that having a tattoo does not affect the quality of work. However, 50,8% of respondents declared that tattoos should be hidden. To conclude, although tattoos are made in a sterile studio, some people perceive the medical staff’s tattooed body as a potential risk of infection. There is also a relationship between the age of the respondents and their opinion on banning tattoos.
