Relacja przyjacielska jest jednym z zagadnień zasadniczych w psychologii. Jakość nawiązanych kontaktów przyjacielskich to jeden z istotnych warunków zdrowia psychicznego. Bliska relacja przyjacielska stwarza przestrzeń do realizowania najbardziej fundamentalnych ludzkich potrzeb. Prezentowane w artykule badania empiryczne dają podstawy do dyskutowania różnic w jakości relacji przyjacielskich między kobietami a mężczyznami.
